Cheryl Zgonena

Marketing Director & Breast Care Consultant

Cheryl is originally from Chicago, IL where she completed her BA in Communications from DePaul University. From 1993-2002, she worked as a media negotiator and marketing specialist for several national advertising agencies and independent marketers. Interested in the path of well being, Cheryl left the corporate world to pursue massage.

She has been practicing massage therapeutically since 2003 after completing her fundamental certification from Denver's Center of Advanced Therapeutics. Her love of adventurous outdoor sports and fast-paced activities helped facilitate her advanced education into sports massage and post-surgical/injury rehabilitation from the Colorado School of Healing Arts. Cheryl practiced privately focusing on Neuromuscular re-education and trigger point therapy to alleviate chronic pain, correct postural distortions for fellow weekend warriors and athletes.

In 2005, Cheryl was recruited as a member of The Sports Massage Team where she assists in the maintenance of cyclists throughout the Rocky Mountain bicycle tours. She helps maintain the health of novice-professional cyclists through preventive, rehabilitative and emotional healing of an athlete.

In 2010, Cheryl focused her medical-based massage skills through the positive effects of manual modalities on post-operative patients. She found her most rewarding work helping women with the recovery process from breast augmentation, mastectomy and reconstructive procedures. Cheryl works with Prosthetic Illusions as a Breast Care Consultant by assisting breast cancer survivors to reclaim their confidence in their physical appearance through breast prosthetics. She is also continuing her education by training to become a certified mastectomy fitter. As Prosthetic Illusions Marketing Director, Cheryl strives to promote public awareness of women's choices in their breast care health.
